Fatal Vision® Opioid Program Kit

The Fatal Vision® Opioid Program Kit offers a hands-on, immersive experience that models the physical and cognitive effects of opioid abuse. By simulating the impairments caused by opioid use, participants gain a deeper understanding of the risks and consequences associated with opioid addiction.

Experience four types of impairments associated with opioid use:

• Divided Attention Failure: The goggles narrow the field of view, reducing awareness and difficulty in recognizing and responding to the surrounding environment while performing tasks.
• Nodding Out: The goggles intermittently black out halfway and then fully, simulating the nodding off associated with opioid use.
• Contrast Sensitivity Impairment: A special film on the goggles reduces the wearer’s ability to their peripheral vision.
• Heaviness in the Extremities: Wrist weights simulate sluggish movements and lack of coordination during activities, modeling the physical effects of opioid use.

By experiencing the behavioral effects of opioid use, participants are more aware of people’s susceptibility and knowledgeable of the severe consequences associated with using opioids.
